A Small Autobiography

Arcanum is obviously a pseudonym but there is an actual meaning behind the name. I originally came up with it when I started translating different words and phrases into Latin. I was big into the anonymity of my online presence so I decided to place the most obvious word for anonymity into a translator: "Secret" and that's how I picked the name Arcanum.

Musical Journey

I started uploading music back in the Summer of 2023 right before I started at college in the UK. At that point I uploaded whatever I could come up with to YouTube to try and gain a viewership. I did eventually gain a small viewership and I still have that thankfully!

I started with the musical side of my life quite young, learning my first instrument at around seven-years-old. That slowly began the process of moving to different instruments to attempt to "conquer them all" (although not really haha).

As of now I can confidently play the Piano, Ukulele, Bass Guitar and Guitar to a pretty good standard as will be evident in past and future compositions.

At the beginning I had little-to-no experience with mixing music, hell I hadn't even properly used Logic Pro before. I made music with GarageBand on my phone which, while it's a good tool to begin with, it's not a long term solution so I eventually started using Logic Pro for my creations. Through my time at college, I learnt more about different techniques when recording, mixing and editing music be that live-recorded or programmed through the use of MIDI Instruments.

Through experimenting with different genres, instruments and techniques I developed better music over time which can be found throughout the internet. I landed on the cinematic/orchestral genre over the last two years because I believe it tells a better story than any other genre or style; I've taken a liking to it as it allows me to continuously build on layers of instruments to create different emotional effects.

I plan to expand my knowledge and music portfolio in the future as well as build on other projects that may not entirely focus around music.

Frequently Asked Questions

The art I use for my music is made by me! I also make the logos for Void In Writing (and it's other publications) and all of the other aspects in The Arcanum Collective.

I have used Tunecore since mid-2025, when I started professionally releasing my music. I swear by them; they have been incredibly helpful with setting up my channels and getting me through any problems with third-party music platforms.

I made the entirety of Arcanum Official! In the past I have used site builders like Google Sites and Wix, but I recently decided to code it myself for Version 3. You can read more about this on Substack!
